We’re proud to share that East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers recently received Company Distilling’s Gather Around Giving Grant, recognizing their crucial role in keeping our community safe. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to bringing people together, whether around a bottle of whiskey or a united effort to fight crime.

Since its launch on May 1, 2021, East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers has empowered citizens to anonymously report criminal activities. This program was brought to life through the collaboration of the Knoxville City Council, Mayor Kincannon’s Office, Chief Eve Thomas, and the Knoxville Police Department. Their mission is simple but powerful: provide the community with a safe and confidential way to report crime.

How Does East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers Work?

The program operates as a bridge between citizens, the media, and law enforcement. Unlike calling 9-1-1, which should still be used in emergencies, Crime Stoppers allows individuals to report information without revealing their identity. The tips provided help solve crimes, locate fugitives, and recover stolen property, all while the “tipsters” remain completely anonymous.

Here’s how you can submit a tip:

  • Phone: Call 865-215-7165 anytime, day or night, and you’ll receive a Tip ID number.
  • Online: Visit their website to submit a detailed tip, and you’ll be able to upload photos, videos, and documents.
  • Mobile: Use the P3 Tips mobile app to send anonymous tips and engage in dialogue with Crime Stoppers.
  • Text: Simply text **TIPS to provide anonymous information.

By keeping identities confidential, Crime Stoppers has become a trusted resource for residents to report criminal activity without fear. Since the program’s inception, thousands of arrests have been made, and significant amounts of stolen property have been recovered.

Why It Matters

Crime affects everyone. Whether it’s theft, assault, or property damage, the repercussions can ripple throughout a community. But with East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers, we all have an opportunity to fight back against crime. In addition to the arrests, Crime Stoppers has fostered greater awareness about crime issues and improved relationships between the community, law enforcement, and the media.

Even better? Tipsters whose information leads to an arrest, stolen property recovery, or illegal drug seizure can receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
